Eligibility Requirements
All court-mandated volunteers must be pre-approved before signing up for shifts. To get started, submit the form below. We’ll review your information and follow up within 48 hours to confirm eligibility based on your offense, required hours, and schedule availability.
Eligibility is determined on a case-by-case basis, and Food Bank of Alaska reserves the right to decline any applicant.
We do not accept volunteers with offenses involving:

Felony convictions
-
Crimes against children
-
Violent crimes
-
Crimes of a sexual nature
We may accept individuals with misdemeanor offenses, such as:

Traffic violations
-
Driving while impaired (DUI/DWI)

Misdemeanor drug charges
-
Other non-violent misdemeanors

Volunteering with Food Bank of Alaska is a meaningful way to serve your community—and we expect you to treat it as such. To be approved for court-ordered community service, please complete the form below. Our team will review your application and get back to you within 48 hours.
Before you sign up, please note the following:

Pre-approval is required
All court-mandated volunteers must be approved before signing up. Walk-ins are not permitted. -
Show up and show respect
Be on time, follow instructions, and use respectful language and behavior. Volunteers are expected to act professionally and contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment. -
Cancellation policy
Can’t make it? Use the cancellation link in your confirmation email to cancel at least 24 hours in advance.
No-shows: Missing more than two shifts without notice will result in dismissal from the program. -
Minimum age: 16
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to participate—no exceptions. -
Follow all safety and training procedures
We’ll cover these at orientation. Your job is to follow them at all times while on-site. -
Bring required paperwork
If your hours need to be signed off, bring your time log or any other required forms with you.

Policies That Matter
We’ve got a few important rules in place to keep everyone safe, respected, and ready to do meaningful work. These include safety briefings, sign-in/out procedures, appropriate cell phone use, and a zero-tolerance policy for harassment or discrimination. You’ll receive a full orientation when you arrive.
To maintain a productive and respectful environment, Food Bank of Alaska reserves the right to:

Turn away or dismiss any court-mandated volunteer who does not follow safety procedures, guidelines, or dress code

Immediately dismiss any volunteer who attempts to forge or falsify time sheets

Terminate court-ordered community service at any time, with or without cause or notice
