Now entering its 17th year, CANstruction has collected over 265,000 cans of food to support Food Bank of Alaska. Each structure built helps raise awareness, spark creativity, and ignite hope across our state.
This year’s theme is Dragons! So get ready to spread your wings, breathe some creative fire, and help us slay hunger in Alaska.
What Is CANstruction?
Teams design and build eye-catching sculptures within a 10’x10’x10’ space — using only canned food. These towering creations draw crowds, inspire awe, and end hunger one can at a time.
When the event wraps, every single can is donated into Food Bank of Alaska’s statewide network to help feed over 86,000 Alaskans facing food insecurity.
🔥 Why it matters:
- Every can helps fill shelves and fuel families across Alaska
- It’s a bold, visual way to advocate for hunger relief
- Combines STEM skills, service, and creativity — all in one fiery event
- Sparks community pride while feeding real change
