Luke Elzinga joined Food Bank of Alaska in July 2026 as the Grants and Communications Manager. In this role, Luke researches, writes, and reports on grants for the organization, in addition to assisting with various communications and marketing efforts.

Prior to moving to Alaska, Luke spent over 12 years in Iowa’s anti-hunger and local food system space doing communications and advocacy work. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University and Master of Public Policy from the University of Northern Iowa.

In his free time, Luke enjoys cooking, reading, games, outdoor recreation, and spending time with his wife, daughter, two cats, and dog.
