Hunger Action Month: One Thing at a Time

Hunger Action Month is a national campaign led by Feeding America each September to raise awareness and inspire action to end hunger.

Here in Alaska, 1 in 6 Alaskans, including 1 in 5 children, experiences food insecurity. Too many families are forced to choose between groceries and other essentials such as rent, medicine, or heat.

Hunger affects more than what is on the dinner table. It can make it harder to stay healthy, focus at school, maintain stability, and plan for the future.

The challenge is serious, but no one has to do everything. This September, we are asking every Alaskan to do one thing. Donate. Volunteer. Share a resource. Start a conversation. Every action helps build a stronger response to hunger across our state.

Food Bank of Alaska is co-hosting the Anchorage Chamber’s September Business After Hours with Northern Air Cargo.

Join local business leaders and community members inside Northern Air Cargo’s hangar to learn how strong partnerships help move food across Alaska.

Admission: Free for Anchorage Chamber members | $20 for general admission and nonmembers
