Hunger Action Month Gift Card Giveaway Official Rules

Eligibility
Open to legal residents of Alaska who are 18 years or older at the time of entry. Employees, contractors, and board members of Food Bank of Alaska, and their immediate family members or household members, are not eligible. Immediate family includes spouses, parents, children, and siblings.
No purchase or donation is necessary to enter or win. A purchase or donation will not improve your chances of winning. Void where prohibited by law.
Giveaway Period
The giveaway begins when the original giveaway post is published on Food Bank of Alaska’s Facebook page and ends at 11:59 p.m. Alaska Daylight Time on September 30, 2026.
How to Enter
Comment on the original giveaway post on Food Bank of Alaska’s Facebook page answering this question: “Why does ending hunger matter to you?”
Limit one entry per person, regardless of the number of comments or Facebook accounts used. Comments on shared copies of the post do not count as entries. Entries must be submitted during the giveaway period and remain available for Food Bank of Alaska to review when selecting the winner.
No photo, sharing, tagging friends, or following a page is required to enter. These actions do not provide additional entries or improve your chances of winning.
Comments will not be judged on writing quality or the personal experiences shared. Please do not include private contact information in your comment.
Prize
One winner will receive one $50 Safeway gift card. Total retail value: $50.
The gift card is subject to the issuer’s terms and restrictions and cannot be exchanged for cash, except as required by law. Any expenses exceeding the gift card’s value are the winner’s responsibility.
Winner Selection and Odds
Food Bank of Alaska will select one potential winner by random drawing on October 1, 2026, from all eligible entries received.
Each eligible entrant will have an equal chance of winning. Odds depend on the total number of eligible entries.
Winner Notification
Food Bank of Alaska will notify the potential winner by replying to their comment from its official Facebook page and asking them to contact the page through a private message.
The potential winner must respond within 72 hours of notification and may be asked to confirm their eligibility. If the person does not respond within that time or is ineligible, an alternate winner will be selected at random.
Food Bank of Alaska will never request payment or credit card information to claim this prize.
Prize Delivery
The gift card may be picked up at Food Bank of Alaska or mailed to the winner at an Alaska mailing address at no charge. The winner is responsible for any applicable taxes and additional expenses associated with using the prize.
Privacy and Publicity
Contact information collected to verify eligibility or deliver the prize will be used to administer this giveaway. Entry does not subscribe participants to fundraising or marketing communications.
Comments submitted on Facebook are public. Food Bank of Alaska will request separate permission before using an entrant’s comment or photo in other promotional materials.
General Conditions
By entering, participants agree to these Official Rules. Food Bank of Alaska may disqualify fraudulent or automated entries and anyone attempting to interfere with the giveaway.
If technical failures or circumstances beyond Food Bank of Alaska’s reasonable control compromise the fairness of the giveaway, Food Bank of Alaska may suspend, modify, or cancel it, subject to applicable law. Any changes will be announced on the original giveaway post.
This giveaway is governed by applicable federal law and the laws of the State of Alaska.

By entering, each participant releases Facebook and Meta Platforms, Inc., from liability arising from or related to this giveaway, to the extent permitted by law.
