CANstruction Anchorage Logo
CANstruction Anchorage is a unique, community-driven competition where teams of engineers, architects, contractors, and students build massive sculptures entirely out of canned food—all to help fight hunger in Alaska.

Now in its 16th year, CANstruction has brought in more than 250,000 cans of food to support Food Bank of Alaska. Every structure built helps raise awareness, spark creativity, and directly feed our neighbors.

What Is CANstruction?

Teams build eye-catching sculptures in a 10'x10'x10' space using only canned food. Once the event wraps, every can is donated into Food Bank of Alaska’s network to support over 94,000 Alaskans facing hunger.

Why it matters:
  • Every can helps fill shelves across Alaska

  • It's a bold, visual way to advocate for hunger relief

  • Combines STEM skills, community service, and creativity
