Summer Meals for Kids Food Program
Meals 2 You Alaska (MTYA)

The Meals to You Program Alaska pilot program offers free food boxes delivered weekly to eligible students in participating school districts during the summer. Designed for students who receive free or reduced meals, this initiative ensures continued access to nutritious meals outside of school hours.

Children’s Lunchbox Distribution

The Children’s Lunchbox in Anchorage will be providing food boxes at several distribution sites. The boxes will contain two suppers for each child – one for the day of service and one for the following day. These will be provided as grab-and-go boxes in a drive-thru line. Families will also be able to receive Pantry Boxes of shelf-stable meals for a family of four while supplies last.

The below distribution sites are open sites (available to anyone).

Pantry Pack distribution locations and times are as follows:

  • Lighthouse Fellowship | Mon, Wed, Fri, 3-3:45 pm
  • Loussac Place (NOT Loussac Library) | Mon, Wed, Fri, 3-4:15 pm
  • Spenard Rec Center | Mon, Wed, Fri, 3-3:45 pm
  • Fairview Rec Center | Mon, Wed, Fri, 4-4:45pm; back of building
  • Penland Park | Thursdays 2:30-4pm

The schools and special programs we currently provide pantry boxes and/or fresh meals to enrolled students only are:

  • Mountain View Boys and Girls Club
  • CITC & CITC Schoolyard
  • Ridgeline Terrace
  • Hmoob Cultural Center
  • Safe Harbor
  • Power Youth Center

Pandemic-EBT

The Pandemic – Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) Program is additional money for families to buy food due to COVID-19 related school closures.
