Organize a Food Drive

You can help keep Food Bank of Alaska’s shelves stocked with nutritious foods by organizing a food drive. Food drives are essential year-round, especially in spring and summer when donations are low. Follow these steps to plan and host a successful food drive:

Plan Your Food Drive

We only accept non-perishable food donations from food drives. Please review our healthy donation list for ideas on what we need most.

  1. Register Your Drive: Fill out this form to let us know about your food drive.
  2. Request Barrels: We offer red-branded food drive barrels for your event. Indicate the number you need when submitting the form. *Please note the food drive host must pick up and drop off the barrels along with the collected food.
  3. Promote Your Drive: Use our new food drive poster to fill out specific information about your event. Download it here.

Please contact Leo Artola at fooddrive@foodbankofalaska.org or 907-222-3122 if you have questions.

Hold Your Food Drive

Engage your family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors in your food drive. Every 1.2 pounds of food you collect provides a meal for one person. Monetary donations are also welcome; every $1 helps us distribute 3 meals.

Deliver Your Donations

Drop off your donations at Food Bank of Alaska’s Warehouse, Monday to Friday, 8am-4 pm. Delivering your food helps maximize the value of your donation and keeps our trucks on the road collecting and delivering food through our Mobile Food Pantry program.

For questions, contact Leo Artola at fooddrive@foodbankofalaska.org or 907-222-3122.
