How Do I Enroll my Child?
The application period has ended (April 1-30,2024), and we are no longer accepting new applications at this time.
Does Meals to You Alaska (MTYA) Replace SFSP (Summer Food Service Program)?
No, MTYA will operate within the SFSP. MTYA expands access to SFSP to communities that have historically lacked access to SFSP. DEED expects many of the sites that have operated in past years to return for Summer 2024, in addition to the new MTYA meal options.
What Communities Will be Served?
During the summer of 2024, communities served by Baylor’s Meals to You program in 2023 will be eligible to participate.
How do I know if my household is eligible?
All children under 18 enrolled in school and living in your household are eligible to get meal boxes if at least one of the children is enrolled in a participating school district and qualifies for free and reduced-price meals.
Is my school district participating in Meals-to-You?
Contact your child’s school to learn if your district is participating in MTYA during the Summer 2024.
Can I still get a meal box if my household receives SNAP benefits?
Yes! You can still sign up to get meal boxes during the summer program if you are receiving SNAP or any other form of assistance. Plus, signing up for MTYA will not affect your eligibility for other assistance programs.
Who will ship the meal boxes?
The U.S. Postal Service or UPS will ship the meal boxes. Most often, UPS ships meal boxes to street addresses and the U.S. Postal Service ships meal boxes to P.O. Boxes.
When will MTYA ship the first meal box?
Shipping dates vary by school district.
How many weeks will MTYA ship meal boxes?
MTYA aims to ship weekly meal boxes to households during the summer. The exact number of weeks you will get a meal box depends on when your school district’s summer starts and ends.
