The Program and Agency Relations Assistant is responsible for staffing the Food Bank of Alaska front desk and providing administrative support for the Programs Department.
This is a Full Time, Non Exempt position, it reports to the Director of Programs. This position starts at $17.00- $21.00 DOE. To apply submit resume and cover letter to jobs@foodbankofalaska.org.
Essential Job Duties:
Facilitate the Food Bank of Alaska front desk during business hours
Responsibilities include:
Greeting and directing visitors
Answering questions about the Food Bank of Alaska
Receiving, distributing mail and packages as needed
Directing incoming food shipments
Monitoring and responding to incoming phone calls and emails
Receiving food and monetary donations
Registering and advising agency shoppers
Guiding volunteers towards registration and volunteer area
Provide administrative support for Food Bank of Alaska programs
Responsibilities include:
Internal and external communication to clients, partners and agencies by phone, email, and in-person
Clerical support including printing, physical filing, mailing, and data entry
Create, edit and maintain organizational communications as needed
Performing tasks within organizational databases, software systems and digital storage platforms
Qualifications:
Client facing dynamic customer service or previous front desk experience preferred
Highly detail oriented with strong organizational skills
Able to work independently and with a team in close collaboration
Competence with word-processing, spreadsheets, and databases
Sensitivity to and empathy for the needs of clients and people from different cultures, marked by the ability to relate respectfully and effectively with diverse stakeholders
Commitment to the organizational mission to end hunger
Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality
