Our Alaska Anti-Hunger Network Conference (September 18-19, 2024) brought together over 90 attendees from across the state, most of whom were partners in the fight against hunger. The event fostered meaningful dialogue through four breakout groups, each featuring four sessions that covered a wide range of critical topics.
Participants explored food programs, advocacy and policy changes and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Philanthropy discussions emphasized community support and strategies for donor engagement, while sessions on self-care and mental health offered attendees valuable insights on maintaining personal well-being while working in challenging environments.
In addition, the breakout groups dove into the state of food security in Alaska, sharing best practices and ideas to ensure that we continue moving toward a hunger-free Alaska.
The event was a powerful step forward in strengthening our network, sharing resources, and amplifying our collective impact across the state.
