GOOD FOOD. REAL PURPOSE.

Why Restaurant Week
matters.

1 in 6 Alaskans faces hunger, including 1 in 5 children. Since 2020, the number of Alaskans experiencing food insecurity has grown 45%, while enrollment in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has fallen 17%.

An estimated 47% of Alaskans experiencing food insecurity have incomes above SNAP’s eligibility threshold. Earning too much to qualify does not always mean earning enough to afford groceries.

Food banks and pantries are helping fill that gap, connecting neighbors with food when their budgets fall short.

Learn more about hunger in Alaska. Food insecurity estimates reflect 2024 data published in 2026.

Your meal out can help.
By choosing a restaurant’s qualifying offer, you help support Food Bank of Alaska’s work with more than 150 partner agencies across the state. You’re also supporting local restaurants and the people who make your dining experience possible. Staying in? A direct gift helps, too.

BEFORE YOU GO

A few good questions.

Does everything I order generate a donation?

No. Only purchases included in a restaurant’s offer qualify. Each listing explains the offer. Ask your server if you’re unsure.

Is this a prix fixe or discounted dining event?

Each restaurant chooses its own way to participate. Some feature special dishes or menus, and others donate proceeds from regular menu items. Participation does not necessarily mean a discount or a set-price menu.

Do I need a ticket or reservation?

No event ticket is needed. Check with the restaurant about reservations and its regular hours before visiting.

Do takeout orders count?

Takeout eligibility varies by offer. Pizza Olympia’s offer includes pickup and dine-in orders only. For other restaurants, confirm directly before placing your order.

Do I have to make an additional donation?

No. Giving directly or through an event QR code is optional. Any donation is separate from your server’s tip.

How can I share my visit?

Tag the restaurant and @ancrestaurantweek, and use #AncRestaurantWeek to help other diners find their next stop.
