The Driver/Warehouse Associate is responsible for making pickups and deliveries and assisting with warehouse functions. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm The ideal candidate should have a flexible schedule and a positive attitude. This person will report directly to the Driver Manager–Anchorage for their assignments.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position which reports to the Warehouse Manager, and pays $22.00 – $24.00/hr DOE. We offer great benefits which includes but not limited to: health/dental/vision, PTO, Holidays, sick leave and retirement match.

Essential Job Duties
- Pick up donated items from local donors, ensuring that on-time standards are met to the donor’s satisfaction. Accurately fill out Donation Receipts with all the pertinent information required.
- When the route is complete, prepare the truck for the next day, and then assist in the warehouse.
- Always provide excellent customer service to food donors, partner agencies, volunteers and the public.
- Ensure proper receipting, invoicing, transport, evaluation, storage and inventory control procedures for all incoming and outgoing products.
- Operate vehicles and equipment in a responsible and safe manner, obeying the rules of the road and DOT regulations.
- Maintain vehicles and equipment responsibly. This includes securing loads and equipment before putting the vehicle in motion, leaving vehicles fueled up for the next run, cleaning and washing out trailers and truck boxes to ensure cleanliness, as well as using chains when conditions are indicated by the Driver Manager.
- Maintain Driver Record of Duty, Vehicle Inspection Reports and other daily, weekly and monthly reports as required by DOT, FMCSR and Food Bank of Alaska.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions or needed maintenance to the Driver Manager.
Other Job Duties
- Operate warehouse equipment in a safe manner, pallet jacks, forklifts, etc. according to OSHA and Food Bank of Alaska standards.
- Assist in maintaining warehouse sanitation standards both inside and outside the building, which includes freezer, cooler, offices and bathrooms. Assist with building cleaning, maintenance and snow removal.
- Perform computer operations as required for inventory control procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years general warehouse or food handling experience.
- Minimum of three years of experience in operation of motor vehicles which includes at least one year of diesel truck driving and forklift experience.
- Valid Alaska DL, clean driving record and a current medical card. A clean driving record includes:
- No suspensions or revocations in the past 3 years
- Less than 3 accidents or moving violations in the most recent 3 years
- No DUIs, DWIs, gross negligence while operating a vehicle, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, speeding, grand theft, hit and run, aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.
- Able to safely perform tasks involving heavy lifting up to 70 pounds.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Good interpersonal and public relations skills.
- Good basic math skills.
- Minimum of one year’s computer experience.
- Commitment to the organizational mission to end hunger.
